Physiotherapy is applied to patients for therapeutic purposes by using various instruments and machines as well as physical factors (electricity, light, water, etc.) and therapeutic exercise that will ease the suffering of patients and promote functional recovery to help patients go back to their normal lives. A physical therapist is one of the professionals who performs and manages these treatments based on scientific evidence. The Department of Physical Therapy has a laboratory for each field and a variety of high-tech training materials and equipment. We are running training courses that meet the standards of the World Federation of Physical Therapist Associations to ensure that clinical practice is performed properly with appropriate teaching and learning methods. This major focuses on training physiotherapists who have expert knowledge and skills.
Students can obtain a physiotherapist license from the Minister of Health and Welfare after passing the National Examination for Physiotherapists conducted by the Korean National Health Examination Institute after completing the formal education program. After that, they will be able to enter medical institutions, public health care institutions, special education institutions, industrial health promotion centers, social welfare facilities, and rehabilitation related fields.
